As it turns out, hot flashes and photography DO mix. “Let me grab my fan!” is not a phrase you hear during every boudoir photoshoot. I chuckled as I recalled Al-Nisa telling me during her consultation that she sometimes requires a fan when her menopause symptoms are getting the best of her and making her feel like she’s hotter than a Texas summer.
She hurries to the other room to grab her fan as I scroll through the images I already captured. I wondered what kind of fan she traveled with because I was pretty certain she hadn’t smuggled in a giant box fan. I mentally made note of where we could plug it in. Upon her return I was pleased to see she had a beautiful hand held fan. I laughed at myself for considering that she would travel with a box fan. I mean, is that even something people do? lol
Ahhhhh! But this fan! This fan made my photographer heart happy! As soon as Al-Nisa began fanning herself, I began snapping the camera and telling her how to position herself so I could get the shot. I’m working the room and getting all the angles as she continues fanning. And then, we just started to laugh. She’s having a hot flash and we’re just working it and SHE OWNED IT! As it turns out, hot flashes and photography DO mix. Plus the fan adds a nice personal touch and I just adore that. What do you guys think?
Here are a few more images from this beauty’s session.
