Before we hear Heather’s thoughts after the session, take a moment to enjoy some of my favorite images from her experience.
Every woman who walks into my studio brings a story with her. Some stories are loud. Some have been quietly whispered for years.
“I’m not photogenic.”
“I’ll do it after I lose weight.”
“I’ve always wanted to… but…”
Heather’s story began long before she ever stepped in front of my camera.
As a little girl, she dreamed of being a model. Like so many dreams we carry as children, life had a way of convincing her it probably wasn’t meant for her. Yet here she was, preparing for something she’d always wondered about, carrying equal parts excitement and nerves.
What I love most about Heather’s boudoir experience journey is that you don’t just see the finished photographs—you get to witness the transformation as it unfolds. Becoming doesn’t happen in a single moment. It happens one brave step at a time.
Chapter One: The Nerves
Click the video below to meet Heather before her session.
Before Heather’s boudoir experience, she shared what she was feeling as she prepared to step in front of the camera. She talked about the nerves almost every woman experiences before a boudoir session, but she also shared something much deeper. Since she was a little girl, she’d always wanted to be a model. That dream had never completely disappeared. Now she was finally giving herself permission to experience a small piece of it.
Like so many women, Heather didn’t walk through my studio doors because she already felt confident.
She walked through them hoping to discover a version of herself she’d never fully seen before.
Chapter Two: Heather’s Boudoir Experience – behind the scenes

Watching women settle into themselves during a session is one of my favorite parts of this work. The nervous laughter begins to fade. Their shoulders relax. The awkwardness gives way to genuine smiles and quiet confidence. By the end of the session, it isn’t about posing anymore. It’s about trusting the process, letting go, and allowing yourself to simply exist without judgment.
Heather’s boudoir experience had her embracing every moment, and you can see her confidence growing with every click of the shutter.

Chapter Three: The Shift
Click the video below to hear Heather’s thoughts immediately after her session.
Just minutes after we wrapped her session, Heather sat down to share what surprised her most. She expected to feel awkward. She expected to be self-conscious. Instead, she felt completely comfortable.
Heather shared that she’d worked with photographers before who unintentionally made her more aware of her insecurities. This experience felt different. She felt supported. She felt encouraged. She felt safe enough to stop worrying about how she looked and simply enjoy the moment.
Then she said something I’ll never forget.
“I felt like a lioness.” “I felt like a woman.”
Sometimes the transformation begins before a woman ever sees a single photograph. Sometimes she walks out of the studio already carrying herself differently.
Chapter Four: Seeing Herself
Click the video below to watch Heather see her images for the very first time.
This is the moment every boudoir experience leads to. The reveal. Watching women see themselves through my camera never gets old. Because they’re seeing themselves. Like REALLY seeing themelves. For years, Heather had focused on parts of herself she wished were different. As image after image appeared on the screen, something shifted. The things she’d spent years criticizing weren’t what she noticed anymore. She saw strength. She saw beauty. She saw confidence. Most importantly, she saw herself with kinder eyes.
Sometimes the greatest transformation isn’t changing your body. It’s changing the story you’ve been telling yourself about it.
Christine’s Reflection
There are moments during reveals that make me so grateful for the work that I do. It’s the pause. The disbelief. The smile that slowly spreads across someone’s face. The whispered, “That’s really me?”
Heather’s journey reminded me that confidence rarely arrives before we do the brave thing. It grows while we’re doing it. Sometimes it starts when we realize we’re more comfortable than we expected. Sometimes it begins when we hear ourselves say, “I felt like a lioness.” And sometimes it settles in while we’re looking at our photographs, realizing we’ve spent years believing things about ourselves that were never true.
That’s why I consider what I do as “just taking photo”. I document becoming. Because every woman who walks through these doors leaves with photographs.
But more importantly…She leaves seeing herself a little differently than when she arrived.

If Heather’s journey resonated with you, I think you’ll enjoy these stories too:
Each woman arrived with her own fears, her own story, and her own reasons for booking a session. Every journey is different, but they all have one thing in common: they discovered something about themselves they weren’t expecting.
Questions Women Ask Before Booking
Will a boudoir session help my confidence?
Most women don’t arrive feeling confident. They arrive hoping they’ll find it. More often than not, confidence is something they discover during the experience—not before it.
What if I’m insecure about my body?
You’re in good company. Almost every woman I photograph has insecurities. My job isn’t to erase who you are—it’s to help you see yourself the way the people who love you already do.
Do I need to know how to pose?
Not at all. Every pose, expression, hand placement, and angle is fully guided from beginning to end. You don’t need modeling experience—you simply need to show up.
Start Your Becoming
If you’ve been waiting for the “right time,” maybe this is your reminder that confidence doesn’t usually come first.
The first step does.
When you’re ready, I’d be honored to walk this journey with you.
